The name of this shop baffled Greenwood residents for months until it was revealed as part of 826 Seattle, a branch of novelist Dave Eggers' national creative-writing program for kids. The small store has kooky items purported to be space-travel essentials (freeze-dried meals), many of which are obvious nods to kitschy science fiction movies (check out the ray guns). It also carries 826 T-shirts, and all of the proceeds go to the writing center. While you're here, check the bulletin board for notices about upcoming events and single-session workshops. Note that this is not a full-blown toy store: go in with a sense of humor and an imagination because much of the cleverness is literary -- standard toys and items given ridiculous new names to sound like important instruments of space travel. Everyone will enjoy filling out the hilarious space-traveler screening questionnaires and spaceship accident reports.
