Part gallery, part store, part rocket-ship ride into pop surrealism, OKOK is a welcome sign that Ballard may finally be able to make a gallery scene work. In a converted garage, OKOK has a white-walled, spotlighted exhibition space showing emerging artists, and a retail space that sells art books and odd, clever toys and collectibles -- Sex Pistols action figures, anyone? It's kind of like Archie McPhee's for art majors and hipsters, though Seattleites of all stripes tend to find something to love about this place.
