On warm summer days the parking lot and nearby streets overflow with people visiting Seattle's largest freshwater swimming beach. The Burke-Gilman Trail, popular with cyclists and runners, travels through the park. Picnic areas, basketball hoops, and a big playground round out the amenities. From Downtown, take I-5 north and get off at the Lake City Way Northeast exit. Stay on Lake City Way for about 1 1/2 mi. Turn right on to Northeast 95th Street, right onto Sand Point Way Northeast, and left onto Northeast 93rd Street.
