Fodor's Review:

If you want to stay on Capitol Hill and don't like B&Bs, this is your only option—and a good one it is. Though it doesn't look like much from the outside, the Silver Cloud is full of surprises. The hotel's on a noisy intersection, but you could hear a pin drop in the spacious lobby, which is so comfortable and nicely styled in modern tans, greens, and purples that it looks like it should belong in an independent hotel, not a mid-range chain. Guest rooms are smallish and have no views to speak of due to the property's location, but they have nice furnishings like tall wooden headboards and faux granite-top desks; king rooms have plush plum-color love seats with large ottomans. King Jacuzzi rooms have large tubs and faux fireplaces (which can be set to give off just light or light and heat), but unless you really want that tub, they're not worth the extra cost as the layout is kind of odd—the tub is in what would have been a sitting area only a few feet from the bed, making the room feel cramped. Suites are well laid out and have bay windows—even though the views aren't great, the extra light is a plus. All rooms have microwaves, refrigerators, and wet bars; a shop in the lobby sells snacks and drinks. You're just steps from the Pike-Pine corridor; the hotel provides a free shuttle service to points Downtown.
