A classic gallery space with white walls and creaky, uneven wood floors, William Traver is like a little slice of Soho in Seattle—without the attitude. Light pours in from large picture windows. The focus is on high-price (tens of thousands of dollars) glass art from local and international artists. Pieces are exquisite—never too whimsical or gaudy—and the staff is extremely courteous to those of us who can only enjoy this place as a museum and not a shop. After you're done tiptoeing around the gallery, head back downstairs and around the corner to Vetri, which sells glass art and objects from emerging artists at steep but much-more-reasonable prices.
