Lake Sammamish State Park

Fodor's Review:

Eastsiders flock to this day-use park in summer to soak up the sunshine on the sandy beach, then to cool off in the frigid lake waters. Speedboats and kayaks zip through the waves out past the swimming float; hikers follow trails behind the shore. Picnic tables are crowded on weekends -- and it's best to bring your own basket rather than test the greasy concessions.
