Fodor's Review:

The sandy Lake Washington beach, with easy access to the water, the sloping lawn, the playgrounds, and the tennis courts, fill quickly on warm days. There are coffee shops and other amenities nearby; the beach has drinking water, picnic tables, phones, restrooms, and showers. From Downtown, go east on Madison Street for about 3 mi, turn right on E. Howe Street and then turn left to head north on 43rd Avenue.
