Asteroid Café

Fodor's Review:

Many customers come here just to sit at the bar for the Thursday-night jazz jams, but that's not a reflection on the food, which is some of the best Italian in the city -- so good, in fact, that Brad's has some serious competition right in its own neighborhood. The space is a little strange -- it's tucked into the closest thing Fremont has to a strip mall, wedged between a pub and a 24-Hour Fitness -- but the owners have managed to create a spot that is both classy and cozy. This is a great place to order duck, especially if it's one of the daily specials; the rigatoni alla salsiccia (with Italian sausage in a tomato, basil, and cream sauce) has been a crowd pleaser since the Asteroid operated out of its first tiny storefront in Wallingford.
