Asteroid Café

Fodor's Review:

Many customers come here just to sit at the bar for the Thursday-night jazz jams, but that's not a reflection on the food, which is some of the best Italian in the city—so good, in fact, that Brad's has some serious competition right in its own neighborhood. The space is a little strange—it's tucked into the closest thing Fremont has to a strip mall, wedged between a pub and a 24-Hour Fitness—but the owners have managed to create a spot that is both classy and cozy. This is a great place to order duck, especially if it's one of the daily specials; the rigatoni alla salsiccia (with Italian sausage in a tomato, basil, and cream sauce) has been a crowd pleaser since the Asteroid operated out of its first tiny storefront in Wallingford.
