Fodor's Review:

At the foot of Queen Anne Hill, just blocks from the Seattle Center, the MarQueen is ideal for patrons of the opera, ballet, theater, or Key Arena sporting events. Formerly an apartment building, this 1918 brick hotel has a dark lobby with marble floors, overstuffed furniture, Asian-style lacquered screens, and a grand staircase overlooking a garden mural painted on a facing building. The spacious guest rooms, furnished with reproduction antiques, all have kitchens and sitting areas. The hotel provides complimentary van shuttle service to Downtown locations. Note that although the historic nature of the building gives the place a lot of character, it also means that it's not as sealed off from street noise (which includes several bars) as a newer hotel might be.

Our family has stayed here a couple of times and have loved our experience. The staff is nice, the rooms huge, complete with full kitchen and seating area. Our teens can safely walk back and forth to the Seattle Center and good restaurants and groceries are adjacent. A great find for anyone who likes being in the middle of everything and a little funk.
