Fodor's Review:

Tom Douglas's restaurant near Pike Place Market has a slightly whimsical design and views of Victor Steinbrueck Park. Etta's is the happy medium between the pricey, sleek Downtown restaurants and the cheap yet lovable holes-in-the-wall like Emmett Watson's. The Dungeness crab cakes have always been one of Douglas's signatures and they are a must, as are the various Washington oysters on the half shell. Brunch, served weekends, is the best meal here—it always includes zesty seafood omelets, but the chef also does justice to French toast, eggs and bacon, and Mexican-influenced breakfast dishes.

A nice, but not great restaurant. Friendly seafood place with friendly service. Food is good, wine list is OK. A good Sunday evening dinner out but definitely not a destination.

We loved Etta's. The shrimp spring rolls are fantastic and the crab cakes are not to be missed.
The only thing I would do is be sure to ask for a quieter table (there is no quiet area in the restaurant!) We were first seated at a very busy table and ended moving when a better one opened up. Be sure to make reservations.
Enjoy!
