El Gaucho

Fodor's Review:

Dress to impress here—you don't want to be outclassed by the waistcoated waitstaff that coolly navigates the packed floor of this retro steak house. El Gaucho serves some of the city's most basic, most satisfying fare in a swanky, expansive room. For the complete show, order the items prepared table-side. From the flaming lamb shish kebab to the cool Caesar salad (possibly the city's best), the virtuoso presentation seems to make everything taste better. Ritzy yet comfortable, El Gaucho makes you relax no matter how stressful your day. Of course, you may get heart palpitations once again when you get the bill—by virtue of its entrée sticker shock alone it's likely the most expensive restaurant in Seattle (the smallest steak on the menu is $39).
