Fodor's Review:

One of the few affordable options Downtown is also a unique and endearing place. Proprietor Lindsey Nichols attends to her guests with great enthusiasm and humor—this is a place where you can just kick back, relax, and be yourself. It's kind of like a hostel for grown-ups, or one for young people who want more privacy and style than a hostel can provide. The bed-and-breakfast is in a historic building, so the rooms are a mixed bag of sizes and layouts, but most have wrought-iron furnishings and all have new beds. Some rooms have shared bathrooms (which are clean and spacious), and most of the rooms on the third floor have skylights instead of windows (because of the building's historic status, Nichols can't renovate to add windows). Second-floor suites have their own bathrooms, as well as full kitchens and large living rooms; one suite has an enclosed balcony, the other has an accessible fire escape. Breakfast is served in the light-filled common area overlooking Elliott Bay.

You cannot count on this establishment to honor their commitments. Made a reservation over 2 months ago, *specifically* for a room with 2 beds. Requested and got an email confirmation detailing this particular.

Two and half days prior to arrival, I receive a phone call that they likely will only be able to provide a room with a Queen bed. We were 2 friends traveling together and didn't want one bed.

I spoke with the owner and she behaved as if it was just an unforseeable dilemma. She kept referring to assigning the rooms as a 'puzzle'. There is NO puzzle!

It was instantly obvious to me what the issue was....she was trying to max out her bookings by shoving us into a situation we had not reserved to make room for others. She kept denying this but there is no other viable reason.

In the end, I cancelled the reservation and had to scramble to find something nearby (we had an itinerary already) that wouldn't cost a boatload. Alot was sold out already. Finally got something but, it was not fun being putin that position. You get the point....utter disregard resulting in plenty of undeserving stress. Caveat emptor.
