Hill House

Fodor's Review:

This small, airy B&B is barely more than a year old under its new ownership, but already proprietors Leanne and Paul Larkin have done a great job updating the place, putting fresh coats of paint everywhere (the kitchen is a spring green that's bound to put a smile on your face and the pale blue in the Narcissus Room make it the best one in the house) and adding new furnishings and pieces of art. The three rooms upstairs, named after their color palettes (the Narcissus will be renamed to match its new paint job), are all very different. The spacious Celadon has green walls, hardwood floors, and a queen bed. The Rose Room is small and cozy and best for singles. The Narcissus has its own private bath, and space enough to include a small antique writing desk. Two suites in the basement have private entrances, sitting rooms, TVs and VCRs, and they share a small patio and bamboo garden. The deck off the dining room is open to all guests. The breakfast part of the equation is taken seriously here and the owners will try to accommodate special dietary needs within reason, such as offering pastries from a vegan bakery.
