The War Room has nothing belligerent about it -- the door staff, bartenders, and patrons are all unfailingly friendly. The space is gorgeous: enormous black-and-white portraits of figures like Joseph Stalin and Richard Nixon (actually meant to be an antiwar mural) give the otherwise slick decor (deep-red walls, light-wood paneling, black leather banquettes) some character. A rooftop deck makes this the place to spend summer happy hours.
