Chapel Bar is worth a peek to see just how beautiful a former funeral parlor can be when it's resurrected as a trendy bar. This is no Goth hangout -- the space is achingly hip, with white Danish modernesque chairs and banquettes offsetting dark-wood walls; a well-dressed, slightly older (late-twentysomething and thirtysomething) crowd enjoys a long list of specialty cocktails. Go during the week, if possible: the weekends get very busy and very loud and the service suffers.
