Fodor's Review:

A group of UW professors founded this winery in 1962, making it the state's oldest. Using only European vinifera-style grapes grown in eastern Washington, the founders' aim was to take advantage of the fact that the vineyards share the same latitude as the best wine-producing areas of France. Complimentary wine tastings are held daily; cellar tours are on weekends. The gift shop is open year-round and sells wines and wine-related merchandise. Columbia hosts special food-and-wine events throughout the year. Columbia's vintages aren't as good as Chateau Ste. Michelle's, though some of its higher-end bottles aren't bad.
