Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture

Fodor's Review:

Totem poles mark the entrance to this museum, where exhibits survey the land and cultures of the Pacific Northwest. Highlights include artifacts from Washington's 35 Native American tribes, dinosaur skeletons, and dioramas depicting the traditions of Pacific Rim cultures. An adjacent ethnobotanical garden is planted with species that were important to the region's Native American communities. For $1 more on the admission price, you get same-day admission to the Henry Art Gallery.

  • Cost: $8, free 1st Thurs. of month
  • Open: Daily 10-5, 1st Thurs. of each month 10-8
