Sonic Boom Records

Fodor's Review:

Though now something of a mini-chain (there are branches in Ballard and Capitol Hill), Sonic Boom is an independent shop through and through. It carries a little bit of everything, but the emphasis is definitely on indie rock. Handwritten recommendation cards from the staff help you find local artists and the best new releases from independent Northwest labels. The store has listening stations as well. Sonic Boom recently expanded: the vaunted "vinyl annex" was brought street level into an adjacent space, which also includes books, gifts, and other indie paraphernalia.
