Green Tortoise Backpacker's Hotel Review

A Seattle institution, the Green Tortoise is still considered by many budget travelers to be the best deal in town. Even if you don't own a backpack and the word "hostel" gives you the heebie-jeebies, the impressive cleanliness here makes the Tortoise a viable option for all sorts of travelers who don't mind sacrificing a little comfort and privacy. Young (and young at heart) travelers might feel the most at home here, but anyone looking for a bargain is more than welcome. All rooms here share bathrooms, which are spacious, clean, and nicely tiled. Each bunk bed has its own locker, light, privacy curtains, four-plug outlet, and fan. The rate includes a fairly extensive breakfast buffet, and dinner Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.

    Hotel Amenities

  • 30 rooms without private bath.
  • Laundry facilities.
  • Rooms have: no TV, Wi-Fi.
  • Rate includes breakfast.
