Bremerton

Nearly surrounded by water, and with one of the largest Navy bases on the West Coast, Bremerton is a green city of colorful residential homes fronted by a wide bay lined with massive warships. Attractions center on the waterfront, with its gardens, fountains, and Seattle ferry docks. Downtown is a burgeoning business area on its own, however, with the western Charlestown neighborhood a rapidly expanding hub of art galleries and restaurants. Ten miles to the north, Keyport is a center for torpedo research, and nearby Bangor is home to a fleet of nuclear submarines.
