Settled into the 19th-century, barn-style Big Haus, the Leavenworth Upper Valley Museum invokes pioneer days in the Cascades. The riverside grounds were once Arabian stallion-grazing terrain, and Audubon programs take advantage of plentiful bird sightings. Exhibits highlight the lives and times of the Field family, local Native American tribes, and other prominent residents of Leavenworth and the Upper Wenatchee Valley. The gallery is open 11 to 5 Thursday through Sunday and holiday Mondays; admission is by donation.
