Anacortes Museum & Maritime Heritage Center

Anacortes Museum & Maritime Heritage Center Review

The frequently changing exhibits at the Anacortes History Museum focus on the cultural heritage of Fidalgo and nearby Guemes Islands, and the Maritime Heritage Center (a few blocks away at 703 R Avenue) is all about—you guessed it—the area's maritime history. The museum is free; during the summer and early fall you can tour the W.T. Preston for $3, the last sternwheeler to work in Puget Sound removing navigational hazards from bays and harbors (and one of only two snagboats remaining in the contiguous United States).
