Maritime Heritage Park

Maritime Heritage Park Review

The Maritime Heritage Park, down a flight of stairs behind the Whatcom Museum, pays tribute to Bellingham's fishing industry. Self-guided Marine Heritage Center tours take you through a salmon's life cycle, winding past hatcheries, aquarium tanks, and fish ladders. A boardwalk route from Holly Street leads to the ponds and a waterfall, where Bellingham was founded in 1852. Note that salmon runs occur annually around September and October.
