Rolling Huts Review

There's camping, and then there are the Rolling Huts—this is roughing it with style and sophistication, in an alpine river valley meadow with mountain views. Designed as a modern alternative to camping by Seattle architect Tom Kundig, these six raised cabins, accommodating up to four guests, have an industrial, boxcar-like appearance and unfussy interiors with 200 square feet of space and plenty of natural light. Plywood walls, minimalist furniture, and high celings give the huts a raw yet light and airy feeling. Each features a wall of windows (for that view) and 240-square-foot deck, a small fridge, microwave, fireplace, and Wi-Fi. Firewood is provided, but guests need to bring their own sleeping bags. There's a $10 surcharge for holiday weekends.
