Fodor's Review

The comfortable old roadhouse, gamely topped by a windmill, was built in 1931. Here it's all about home-style food, particularly steak: famous entrées include whiskey pepper steak (pepper-coated New York strip sautéed, flamed with whiskey, and finished with mushrooms in a rich demi-glace), slow-roasted prime rib, and marinated tenderloin chunks, flamed with cognac. Seafood isn't to be overlooked, either; try the salmon with herbed butter and white wine, jumbo tempura prawns, or prawn sauté. Can't decide? The surf-and-turf dinner includes tenderloin and lobster tail. If you still have room after the entrée, splurge on a piece of fresh-baked pie or cheesecake, and wash it all down with a regional wine.
