Only a few restaurants are inside the park; a few others worth checking out lie beyond its borders. Mt. Rainier's picnic areas are justly famous, especially in summer, when wildflowers fill the meadows and friendly yellow pine chipmunks dart hopefully about in search of handouts. Note that en route to Mt. St. Helens there's no food, even at visitor centers, past milepost 27.
