Fodor's Expert Review Bayou
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
New Orleans and Washington, D.C., might seem to have little in common, but both cities share a common love of after-hours carousing and belt-stretching cuisine. The urban marriage is consummated beautifully at this two-level po'boy palace, where live bands often turn the top floor into a mini–Bourbon Street. Down below, though, the food rules, like the bourbon-glazed pork chop and a fried-green-tomato appetizer hearty enough to join the entrée menu. Drinks, such as sazeracs, hurricanes, and huckleberry lemonade, round out the down-home picture.
