Across the street from the Capitol, this tavern serves traditional seafood from the rest of the British colonies of North America. Mrs. Campbell's favorite dishes are sherried shrimp, scallops, and lobster, as well as the Waterman's Supper and lump crab cakes—the tavern's signature dish. Classic sides include cabbage slaw, spoon bread, and sweet potato muffins. An evening's entertainment might include storytelling or traditional music. George Washington often met with
local residents at Mrs. Campbell's tavern.

We were seated in the basement. It was dark but very atmospheric. Costumed characters came around and visited with the guests. The steak was tough, and next time I would just tell the server to not bring it. but the rest of the food was ample and tasty. It was a very pleasant experience, and we will go again next time.
