Omni Newport News Hotel Review
Hidden back from traffic noise and featuring possibly the most pleasant front desk, the Omni is a stand-out. The burgundy, green, and gold color scheme of the lobby carries over to the guest rooms, which look out on the indoor pool below. Rooms have mahogany furnishings, granite vanities, desks, and sofas. Mitty's Ristorante and Piano Lounge serves regional Italian cuisine and local seafood, with exceptional homemade pasta and veal dishes. Specialties include ziti with broccoli and shrimp Capri (shrimp paired with spinach and fresh Italian herbs). On Friday and Saturday there is a nightclub, Tribeca, with bands and a DJ. On Thursday from 5:30 until 7 there is a manager's reception offering $1 beers and house wines. To reach the hotel, take Exit 258A off I-64 and make the first right.
