Jamestown
Getting Here & Around
From April to October, the Jamestown Area Shuttle provides loop service around the Jamestown area every 30 minutes between Historic Jamestowne, the Jamestown Settlement, and the Jamestown Glasshouse (part of Historic Jamestowne).
By Ferry
The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry began providing service across the James River in 1925. This is the best free ride in Virginia; it takes you back 400 years to when the colonists first spied the site where they founded Jamestown. The ferry leaves the Jamestown dock about every hour on the half hour, leaving the opposite port, Scotland, on the hour 24 hours a day. Wait times vary from 15 to 30 minutes (sometimes longer in summer). Cars, campers, trucks, and motorcycles are allowed on the ferry. Foot passengers may ride, but there's nowhere to park at the ferry landing.
