Hopewell

Hopewell

City Point, the oldest part of Hopewell, was established in 1613 by Sir Thomas Dale. Across from Charles City County via the Route 106 Benjamin Harrison Bridge, Hopewell is worth a half-day exploration for its 19th-century buildings, nearby plantations, and 44 Sears Roebuck & Co. Catalog houses built from 1926 to 1937.

Stop by the Hopewell Visitor Center for maps to the Sears Catalog Homes in the Crescent Hills subdivision near downtown. The visitor center is just off I-295 at Exit 9A, and is open daily 9-5.
