Fodor's Expert Review Poppy Hill Tuscan Kitchen
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
In the heart of the downtown shopping district, you'll have to look down to find this cozy basement eatery, but it's worth the search. A "farm-to-table restaurant," Poppy Hill's regionally sourced produce changes seasonally. Warm earth tones infuse the space and rustic Tuscan favorites include hearty soups and salads, seafood stew, prosciutto-wrapped tilapia, and balsamic glazed chicken. The antipasto platter, a mountain of artisanal cheeses, crostini, olives, and charcuterie, is big enough to share with four. A nice list of chianti, sangiovese, and other Italian wine favorites, both white and red, complements the menu. It is open for brunch on Sunday.
