This fun and unpretentious restaurant has many fresh and local seafood dishes, and those with other tastes can choose from such options as filet mignon and prime rib; even vegetarians are well cared for. Raw bar enthusiasts will be enticed, too, with the option of getting a half-pound of steamed shrimp, Dungeness crab legs, snow crab legs, or littleneck clams. From live Maine lobsters to blue-point oysters, this is the place for any kind of seafood you crave. Although
the interior is romantic, with exposed brick and dark wood, if the weather's nice, dine alfresco on one of the city's favorite patios. The Sunday brunch is especially attractive, as are the specialty drinks, particularly the martinis.

We had a wonderful meal at the Hard Shell. I was starving and treated myself to a dozen oysters rather than just 6. Good choice - they were outstanding! The rest of the meal was delicious also. The service was outstanding - we ate outside on a clear dry evening so the stars added to the ambience. I would definitely go there again.
