Richmond, Fredericksburg and the Northern Neck Sights

Wilton Review

William Randolph III built this elegant Georgian house in 1753, entertaining notable statesmen including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Once 14 mi downriver, the home was moved brick by brick to its current site when industry encroached upon its former location. The home's 1815 period furnishings include the family's original desk bookcase and an original map of Virginia drawn by Thomas Jefferson's father.
