The Red Fox Inn and Tavern Review
Built in 1728 of local fieldstone, Mr. Chinn's Ordinary (tavern) was sited on the vast estate of Thomas, sixth Lord Fairfax. George Washington visited the popular tavern in 1748. During the Civil War the inn served as a headquarters and hospital for Confederates. Today it is on the National Register of Historic Places. Bedside sweets, bathrobes, and the Washington Post delivered to your four-poster bedroom are extras that make for a special stay.
