Fodor's Review

You'll feel like you've stepped into a gorgeous Federal-period bed-and-breakfast at this luxurious boutique hotel just off Alexandria's busy King Street. With its parquet floors, crystal chandeliers, fireplaces, and furnishings faithful to the late 1700s/early 1800s, the hotel is often mistaken for a renovation rather than a structure built from scratch in 1985. Rooms have two- or four-poster beds, and all come with bathrobes, yoga mats, and a pack of fresh-baked cookies on your pillow. The highly regarded Grille restaurant serves American contemporary cuisine.
