Vermont's largest hotels are in Burlington. Elsewhere you'll find inns, bed-and-breakfasts, and small motels. The many lovely and sometimes quite luxurious inns and B&Bs provide what many people consider the quintessential Vermont lodging experience. Rates are highest during foliage season, from late September to mid-October, and lowest in late spring and November, when many properties close. Some offer package rates. Of note, almost all Vermont inns and B & Bs are no-smoking.
