Fodor's Review

Nine miles upriver, this small town, with a population just short of 3,000, is the country cousin of bustling Brattleboro and is a haven for writers, artists, and craftspeople. There are dozens of pottery studios to visit and a few orchards. Each November, dozens of artisans and craftsmen open their studios and homes for a live demonstrations and plenty of fun during the Putney Craft Tour.
