White House of Wilmington Review

It's hard to miss this 1915 Federal-style mansion standing imposingly atop a high hill east of Wilmington. Grand balconies and the main balustraded terrace overlook the hill. A grand staircase leads to rooms with antique bathrooms and brass wall sconces; some rooms have fireplaces and lofts. Toboggans and tubes are also provided for the great hill. A small indoor pool is formed from an old coal bin and surrounded by hand-painted murals of Roman bath scenes. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and undeniably romantic dining in the Mahogany Room.
