This 10-acre estate sits on a wonderfully quiet road. The house has an excellent mix of modern comforts and antique fixtures. And there's enough space and quiet, with three big common rooms (and only three guest rooms), that it can feel like home. The house was built in 1918 and was designed with 9-foot ceilings and great light throughout. Rooms are newly carpeted, and clean freaks will breathe easy here. Owners Gay and Roger Squire are rightly proud of their breakfasts served in a richly paneled dining room. Roger is a flute player and enjoys the company of other musicians, who get a 10% discount. Pros: big estate feels your own, spotless. Cons: bathrooms less exciting than rooms, no credit cards.
