This two-level converted barn has the best nightlife in southern Vermont and a fun dining room to boot. The upper level is the restaurant—the big A-frame has wagon wheels and a carriage suspended from the ceiling. Settle in near the huge fireplace for beef tenderloin, roasted half duckling, or penne alla vodka. The apple pie was served at the 2009 and 2013 presidental inaugurations. Downstairs in the tavern, open year-round, there's Irish music, half-price Guinness,
and fish-and-chips on Wednesday. On the premises are some relaxed, no-frills accommodations.
