Top of the Hill Grill

Top of the Hill Grill Review

Hickory-smoked ribs, beef brisket, apple-smoked turkey, and pulled pork are a few of the favorites at this barbecue outside town. Larger parties can opt for "family-style" dinners, and homemade pecan pie is the dessert of choice. You can sit indoors in the informal dining room with big windows, but the best seats are outdoors at picnic tables overlooking the West River.

Mix a funky atmosphere with an eclectic selection of great food, at super prices, and you get the TOTHG. It is simply a wonderful place to eat. Being able to bring your own beverage of choice is the icing on the cake. The only downside is that it's only open for 6mos of the year. I'll only get in one more meal before it closes for the season (sniff).

We pulled in late on a wet night and were greeted by Jonathan Julian, the extraordinarily knoweledgeable and warm proprietor of this genuine and generous BBQ joint right on Putney Road. The food is fresh and copious. For Julian, BBQ and hospitality are almost a religion. No wonder that this place is always full. Everyone comes back again and again as there is nowhere else that gives this kind of value. In addition, the view is sensational!
