This inn has four buildings right on Lake Champlain, including the 1891 Colonial-revival main house with nine guest rooms, the restaurant, a pub room, library, and sitting room. Many rooms have water views, and each possesses country furnishings and antiques. The beach is a popular spot for lake swimming in summer, and there are boat rentals nearby. The Homestead, Southwind, and Cove House have adjoining rooms that are good for families. Dinner ($$-$$$) is served in the informal glass greenhouse or Colonial-style dining room. Pros: relaxed vacation complex; superb lakefront setting. Cons: open just May to November.
