Ruthcliffe Lodge & Restaurant Review

Good food and splendid scenery make this off-the-beaten-path motel directly on Lake Champlain a great value. If you're looking for a inexpensive summer place to take in the scenery, canoe the lake, or go biking, this will do quite nicely. The lodge is on Isle La Motte, a rarely visited island. Rooms are very simple: bed, dresser, night table, and stenciled wall border. Owner-chef Mark Infante specializes in Italian pasta, fish, and meat dishes; there's alfresco seating that overlooks a lawn leading to the lakeshore. A full breakfast is included.
