Fodor's Expert Review Penny Cluse Cafe
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
The lines can be long on weekends to enter this popular breakfast and brunch spot, but it's for a reason. The bright, warm ambience makes a perfect setting for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, with inventive versions of the classic dishes, like fritatta-stuffed breakfast burritos layered with local cheddar and avocado crema; slabs of griddled homemade banana bread with maple-walnut cream cheese; and hearty rice bowls with escabeche-style vegetables. The café's sister restaurant, Lucky Next Door, is, well, right next door for much of the same menu and shorter waiting times, plus cocktails, wine, espresso and house-made baked goods to-go.
