Fodor's Review

Founded in 1800, Middlebury College was conceived as a more godly alternative to the worldly University of Vermont, but has no religious affiliation today. In the middle of town, the early-19th-century stone buildings contrast provocatively with the postmodern architecture of the Mahaney Center for the Arts, which offers music, theater, and dance performances throughout the year.
