The Inn at Round Barn Farm Review

A Shaker-style round barn (one of only five in Vermont) is the centerpiece of this B&B, but what you'll remember when you leave is how comfortable a stay here is. In winter, you toss your shoes under a bench when you come in and put on a pair of slippers from a big basket. There's magic in that gesture, breaking down barriers between guests and giving you permission to kick back. You'll feel like a kid in the downstairs rec room with its TV, board games, and billiard table. There's also a heated lap pool on the lower level. The 12 guest rooms inside the 1810 farmhouse have eyelet-trimmed sheets, elaborate four-poster beds, richly colored wallpapers, and brass wall lamps for easy bedtime reading. Many have fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. The inn dog is your guide—literally—as you snowshoe or hike the miles of trails on this beautiful property filled with gardens and sculpture. Plan a winter trip around one of the moonlit snowshoe dinners, which terminate with hot chocolate in an old cabin.
