Middlebury College
Middlebury College Review
Founded in 1800, Middlebury College was conceived as a more godly alternative to the worldly University of Vermont but has no religious affiliation today. In the middle of town, the early-19th-century stone buildings contrast provocatively with the postmodern architecture of the Center for the Arts and the sports center. Music, theater, and dance performances take place throughout the year at the Wright Memorial Theatre and Center for the Arts.
