Central Vermont: Places to Explore

Brandon

Thanks to an active artists' guild, Brandon is making a name for itself. In 2003 the Brandon Artists Guild, led by American folk artist Warren Kimble, auctioned 40 life-size fiberglass pigs painted by local artists. The "Really Really Pig Show" raised money for the guild (as well as other organizations) and brought fame to this once overlooked community. Since then the guild has taken on birdhouses, rocking chairs, artists' palettes, cats and dogs, and, in 2009, "Starring Brandon," which featured ornamented star-shaped frames spread throughout town.
