Zion Canyon Field Institute Review

The educational arm of the Zion Natural History Association offers one- and two-day workshops on the park's natural and cultural history with an expert instructor. Each session includes classroom time plus a hike into the field to apply what you've learned. Take a deep dive into subjects like edible plants, bat biology, river geology, photography, or adobe-brick making, or general-interest offerings like bird-watching. Classes are limited to small groups; reserve ahead to assure placement. There also are ongoing park projects visitors can volunteering to help out with, giving them a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Zion's inner workings.
